Hopefully, they have not abandon some sort of decent add-on map/car pack at some future date. An overclocked C2D and a 4870 should get this game playing smoothing without hiccups. Overall, the game is still fun but coming from Dirt it was somewhat of a let down for me. In particular the rally track lengths and the lack of car variety found in Dirt. Overall Review: Although the game itself is fun I have to note at some of the corners cut in my con section. The car upgrades are labeled "Rookie", "Pro" and "Elite". What they did was re-use the same cars for other tier events by upgrading the car at a certain price point. There are no tractor trailers or those oil trucks (I honestly forgot their proper name). Also, the number of cars are much less then in Dirt. This is the most disappointing aspect of the game coming from Dirt. This was very common with Dirt's rally tracks. Although there are about 2 or 3 that last about 4 minutes. Although they've include just as many rally tracks you be lucky to race on a track that lasts 3 minutes or more. The use of Blue Ripple sound is a novel idea if you have a quad core CPU and have the processing power to spare.Ĭons: The Rally tracks are for the most part a lot shorter then in Dirt. I found this game more enjoyable then other racing games. Driving Physics are within normal operations. Prepare for mud, gravel, dust and dirt too in DiRT 2, coming 2009.Īdditional Information Date First Available
